KENNETT SQUARE—What better way to spend the extra day in 2020 than at a winter-warming community party with great beer, live music, and food? The 2020 Kennett Winterfest will be held on Saturday, Feb. 29, from 12:30 to 4 p.m.
Historic Kennett Square is encouraging beer lovers to buy tickets this weekend to take advantage of an unprecedented limited-time special offer to celebrate the leap year—buy three tickets and get the fourth free. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 29, and the special four-for-the-price-of-three offer is good only on tickets for the regular session and only through Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Bundle up and enjoy winter brews from over 65 craft breweries, including some unique brews only available at Winterfest 2020, as well as live music from Amanda and the Teddy Thomas Band and great food from a variety of food trucks.
“While Winterfest brings together an amazing array of different beers, our emphasis is always on having the best, highest quality beers,” says “Brewfest King” Jeff Norman, local architect and one of the original Brewfest founders. “And one of the best opportunities to sample the finest beers is at our exclusive Def Conn (“definitely connoisseur”) event. This year Def Conn will feature Rotunda Brewing Co., the winner of the Kennett Brewfest 2019 ZMCRE Best of Connoisseur Award.” The Def Conn session will be held from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm and tickets include special beer tastings and food from Talula’s Table as well as admission to the regular event. “With only 75 tickets, Def Conn will sell out quickly,” Norman says, and he encourages beer fans to buy their tickets as soon as they go on sale this Friday.
Winterfest is an eagerly anticipated event that always offers a great variety of beer experiences on tap—from IPAs to stouts, porters, lagers, Pilsners, and saisons. “Winterfest provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy beers you know you’ll love and also to try something new and discover your next favorite brew,” says Norman. “Winterfest celebrates the art and science of beer and brings brewers and enthusiasts together. This event proves that craft beer is alive and well in the mid-Atlantic region.”
In addition to Kennett Square’s own hometown favorites Kennett Brewing Company, Braeloch Brewing, and Victory, brewers at Winterfest will include Tired Hands, Hidden River Brewing, Toppling Goliath Brewing, and first-time attendee Form Fermentery.
All proceeds from the Winterfest go to Historic Kennett Square, a nonprofit organization working to keep Kennett Square a regional economic and cultural center.
