Solanco head football coach, Joe Pearson, recently announced that three Solanco seniors have been selected to play in the Tri-County all-star game scheduled to be played on Saturday, May 27, at Hempfield High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Joining Pat McGettigan, a fullback/linebacker are Eric Risk, an offensive lineman, and Jordan Marsh, a wide receiver.
McGettigan (5-9, 195) was the only Golden Mule to be selected to play in the 2005 War of the Roses Senior all-star game held on Thanksgiving Day at West York High School. At the annual Solanco Football Booster Club banquet McGettigan was presented the Golden Mule Award and also earned the Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Marsh (6-3, 190), a starting guard on the boy's basketball team, also earned post season Lancaster-Lebanon League honors following the season. He was named to the all-section team as a defensive back. He was also one of the leading receivers on this past season's Golden Mules squad.
Risk is the big guy of the threesome. At 6-0, 260-pounds, Risk played on both sides of the ball as a defensive and offensive lineman.
"I'm happy for these guys," said Pearson. "They can take pride in the fact they were voted onto this team. It wasn't like we were asked to fill three vacancies."
