The following are the most recent results from the White Clay Soccer Club's spring season.
Boys U-17 Lions
The Lions scored twice to tie the game, but gave up two goals in the final seven minutes and lost a well-played match 4-2 to the Central Delaware Arsenal. Both goals for the Lions were scored by Ben Forwood, with assists from James Simkins. Solid play was turned in by forward Andrew Lasker and midfielder Garrett Mayhart.
Girls U-13 Flame
The Flame lost to the Concord Avalanche 3-1 despite a strong effort from fullbacks Shelby Smith and Becca Bussard. Janee Fabian scored the lone Flame goal on a crossing pass from Mackenzie Ehrhart.
Girls U-12 Wildfire
The Wildfire had a phenomenal game this week beating the Hockessin Galaxy 5-0. Keiva Brannigan was the leading scorer with two goals while Caroline Zuleba, McKenzie Townsend and Heidi Bechtold also added goals. Bridget Betty had an outstanding game on defense as well.
Boys U-11 Comets
The Comets suffered a tough home defeat on Sunday by a score of 6-1 to the Central Dover Rovers. The Comets held the Rovers scoreless through the first 20 minutes, but a questionable handball call gave the Rovers a penalty kick that opened the scoring floodgates. Karl Forst and Dylan Bair each played well in goal for the Comets despite the loss. Ryan Hannum converted a penalty kick late in the game after being taken down in the box for the lone Comet goal.
Girls U-10 Wildcats
The Wildcats shutout the River Riptide to improve their record to 2-1 in league play.
