Theodore L. Witmer, Sr., 66, of Nottingham, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008, in Lancaster. He was the husband of Judy McCardell Witmer with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Lloyd Witmer of Willow Street and Ann Housekeeper McMillan of Darlington, Md.

Theodore was formerly employed with General Motors at the Boxwood Plant. He was a member or the First Baptist Church of Oxford and the Appaloosa Horse Club. He enjoyed horses, gardening and bird watching. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; parents; step-mother, Irene Witmer; one son, Theodore L. Witmer, Jr. and his wife, Nina of Willow Street; one daughter, Sandy A. Dixon and her husband, Craig of Lewisville; three grandchildren, Joshua Dixon, Lindsey Witmer and Connor Witmer; three brothers, Richard Witmer of Darlington, Md., Vernon Witmer of New Providence and Jeff Witmer of Quarryville; three sisters, Cindy Kendig of Christiana, Brenda Welk of Willow Street and Bonnie Amoroso of Va.; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at the Edward L. Collins Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Pine St., Oxford, Pa.

Interment was in Quarryville Cemetery.
