An 18-year-old West Chester man was killed early Sunday morning when the car he was driving collided with two other vehicles, reports said.
Police said Jonathan M. Knox was traveling eastbound in his Honda Civic on West Strasburg Road in West Bradford Township when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of his vehicle and began to cross over into the westbound lane.
A Chevrolet truck driven by Norman J. Jackson, 29, of Coatesville, swerved to avoid Knox's car, but the vehicles collided and the right rear axle and rear tire of Jackson's truck were ripped off by the impact of the crash, police said.
Jackson's truck then began spinning clockwise, according to reports, and he was ejected out the driver's-side window.
Police said Knox's car continued east in the westbound lane while spinning clockwise before eventually striking the front end of a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Marta Piombino, 44, of Coatesville.
Knox was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Jackson was transported to Chester County Hospital for medical treatment. Piombino was transported to Crozer Hospital for medical treatment.
Two juvenile passengers in Piombino's vehicle were transported to Christiana Hospital for medical treatment, police said.
An investigation is continuing.
