West Grove >> After a thorough police investigation, the student who is believed to have written the threat against Fred S. Engle Middle School has been identified and will be addressed in accordance with school policy. Police confirm there is no active or credible threat to the school.
The comments that were written in a girl’s bathroom on the first floor of the school. The comments referenced a school shooting that is anticipated to take place.
“We take very seriously our responsibility to ensure the safety of our students and staff and will therefore always err on the side of caution in both reacting to and reporting threats of violence in our schools,” said Superintendent Dr. M. Christopher Marchese. “We would like thank our staff for their diligence in addressing this issue, the police for their fast response and thorough investigation and our school community for their support in the continued safety and security of our students and staff.”
As the identified person is both a student and a minor, Avon Grove School District is constrained under the law from providing any further details regarding the investigation.
