Humanitarian Club invites all students, faculty, family and friends to attend this year's annual Faculty vs. Student Basketball Game scheduled Friday, Feb. 22. Tickets are $2. Tickets go on sale at 6 p.m. and a pre-game show begins at 6:30 p.m. A concession stand will provide food and snacks. The game begins at 7 p.m. and a halftime show is planned. Several "theme baskets" and prizes will be raf-fled. This year the faculty will have several surprise performances along with several AGHS groups. All proceeds from this game and basket raffles will be donated toward helping those in need within our local Avon Grove School District community.Thursday, Feb. 28, is the 7th annual Fred S. Engle Student/Faculty Basketball Fund-raiser. The 8th grade girls and boys basketball teams hope to keep the winning tradition alive as they try for their third win in a row. Tickets are only $3, and they go on sale at the middle school beginning Tuesday, Feb. 19. More than 40 themed baskets will be raffled, and they can be viewed in the school's audion on Feb. 27 and 28. Starting Feb. 19, commemorative T-shirts will be available for purchase at a cost of $6. There will be lots of food, fun and entertainment so make plans to attend the most memorable night of the year. Doors open at 6 p.m. and students must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
The Avon Grove High School After Prom committee is requesting donations from the community in order to provide high school seniors and juniors a safe place to go after the Senior Prom on June 6. The Avon Grove Library is pleased to announce it will host Link into Lifelong Learning: Computer Enrichment for the Entire Family at the library. This program will help to strengthen adult computer proficiency through formalized instruction, as well as, support an after-school and summer technology-based program for school-aged children.
The instructor, Barbara Odell, is the owner of Web site Design and Images in Landenberg, a web design firm for small businesses and nonprofits since 2000. Classes will teach Web design, Wikis and blogging.
