A 2006 Nissan Pathfinder caught fire in the engine compartment on Router 1 at Scroggy Road in Lower Oxford on March 31 at 7:18 p.m. No one was injured and the car was towed away, police said.

Two people, a man and a woman, entered a food store in the 800 block of Baltimore Pike in East Marlborough Township between March 3 and 12 and wrote bad checks worth $480. Thjey left in a white Cadillac Deville, police said.

Someone used the credit card information of a Landenberg resident who lived on Hunting Hills Drive in Franklin Township Drive in Franklin and purchased several items and services on March 30, police said.

Someone took a phone charger from a car in the 100 block of Kelton Road in Penn Township overnight on March 28, police said.

Someone stole cash from a cash register in an establishment in the 400 block of Baltimore Pike in Pennsbury Township overnight on March 29, police said.

Someone entered a shed in the 100 block of Great Oad Drive in New London Township and stole about $1,000 worth of lawn equipment between March 24 and 30, police said.

Kim Matusky, 49, of Lincoln University was caught stealing a box of Crests White Strips from a food store in the 800 block of West Baltimore Pike in Penn Township on March 30 at 5:33 p.m., police said.

Someone committed criminal mischief in the 300 block and the 100 block of Redbud Drive in East Nottingham Township on March 29 at 2:30 a.m., police said.

There was a two-car crash at the intersection of Jennersville and Corby roads in Penn Township on March 29 at 3:50 p.m. Mary Wallace, 81, of West Grove was traveling west on Corby Road and stopped at the intersection with Route 796. She failed to yield the right of way to Eric Waters, 38, of Lincoln University and was struck in the driver's side front fender. It is unknown if Wallace, Waters' or any of Waters' child passengers were injured. Passenger Marian Waters, 34, of Lincoln University suffered minor injuries.

The state police had a sobriety checkpoint near Longwood Road in Kennett Township along Route 1 on March 298 through 31. The checkpoint resulted in four DUI arrests, 10 summary traffic citations, one criminal drug arrest and two summary criminal arrests, police said.

Frank Valentino, 34, of Kennett Square was Arrested for DUI at routtes 1 and 52 in Kennett Township on March 29 at 11:45 p.m., police said.

Somebody used the credit card information of a Pocopson Township resident to make fraudulent purchases online on March 28 at 11:42 a.m., police said.

Someone took jewelry from a bedroom in the 10 block of Morningmist Lane in East Nottingham Township on March 28 at 3:46 p.m. The value of the stolen property is about $4,000, police said.

Someone stole a license plate from a vehicle in the 400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Avondale on March 23, 24 or 25, police said.

Someone took a purse that was left in a shopping cart at a food store in the 800 block of West Baltimore Pike in Penn Township on March 19 at about 5:40 p.m., police said.

Anthony Spirito, 39, of Oxford attempted to return a PSP adaptor to a store in the 600 block of Commons Drive in Lower Oxford on March 28 at 7:57 p.m. The return was refused by the cashier because it was past 30 days. Spirito became irate and stole a new adaptor. He was taken into custody at his home and later released to his wife, police said.

Brandon Williamson, 22, of Philadelphia was arrested for DUI at a business in the 900 block of East Baltimore Pike in East Marlborough Township on March 11 at 1:13 a.m., police said.

There was a two-vehicle crash on March 22 at 10:31 p.m. on Route 1 in Penn Township. Michael Morrell Jr., 38, of Oxford was traveling southbound on Route 1 and came upon John Nask, 51, of West Chester horizontal across both southbound lanes. Morrell veered off the road onto the shoulder but struck an embankment and rolled over. Nask was then moved from blocking traffic. Morrell refused EMS transport to the hospital, police said.

Paul Joseph Porter, 40, of Lincoln University and Heather Leigh Harrington, 25, of Landenberg were arrested for DUI on Route 896 north of Elbow Lane in London Britain Township on March 23 at 3 a.m., while Bobby Joe Hall, 42, of Landenberg was cited for striking a male with a close fist at the same location and time, police said.

Randy Lee Rader, 54, is being charged with harassment involving a domestic between a boyfriend and girlfriend in the 200 block of Graves Mill Road in East Nottingham Township on March 27 at 10:40 p.m., police said.

Muhammed Mahmud, 22, of Oxford was arrested for DUI and other traffic-related offenses at a traffic stop on State Road south of Lewisville Road in New London Township on March 28 at 1:43 a.m., police said.

Daniel Andre Short, 20, of Newark, Del., was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at a traffic stop on Violet Lane at Route 896 in New London Township on March 30 at 2:13 a.m., police said.

Police are investigating the report of an online fraudulent scheme involving sending money to Nigeria reported by a resident of West Nottingham Township on March 25 at 9:12 a.m., police said.

Someone entered a school in the 200 block of Church Road in Lower Oxford Township overnight on April 4, spray painted the exterior walls and smashed two windows, police said.

A 17-year-old driver was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop at Cossart Road in Pennsbury Township on April 6 at 9:36 p.m., police said.

Someone broke into a car, smashing the windows, and took a cell phone, wallets and a computer in the White Clay Creek Preserve parking lot in London Britain Township on April 6 between 2 and 5 p.m., police said.

Someone removed a push mower and an 8-gallon gas tank from the property in the unit block of Fairville road in Pennsbury Township overnight on April 4, police said.

Someone driving a blue dodge vehicle lost control and crashed into a wooden fence, fleeing south on State Road in New London Township on March 31 at 3 a.m., police said.

Someone used the credit card information of a resident of Buttonwood Lane in East Nottingham Township between March 18 and 25, police said.

A 24-year-old female from Port Deposit, Md., was arrested for drug and drug paraphernalia at a traffic stop on Route 1 southbound at Route 472 in East Nottingham Township on March 27 at 7:20 p.m., police said.

Someone tried to use another person's credit card from Franklin Township on April 6, police said.

Kennett Borough: Someone stole prescription medication from a residence located in the 300 block of Juniper Street sometime between Thursday, March 21, at 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 24, at 2:30 p.m., police said.

Someone burglarized a home in the 800 block of Park Avenue sometime between Sunday, March 24 at 1 p.m. and Tuesday, March 26, at 3 p.m., removing vehicle tires and statues, police said.

Someone egged a residence in the 100 block of Scarlett Avenue overnight on Friday, March 29, police said.

Anthony H. Butler Jr., 36, of Kennett Square was cited for disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred on Friday, March 29, at 11:13 p.m. in the 200 block Birch Street, police said.

Dennis Cornette, 43, of Landenberg was held for an outstanding bench warrant out of the district attorney's office following a traffic stop on Saturday, March 30, at 10 p.m. in the 700 block of West State Street, police said.
