Thursday, October 8

Field Hockey

Kennett 3, Sun Valley 1

Kennett (2-6-1 Ches-Mont) got goals from Maddie Miller, Kristy Gallivan and Mallory Sinton in the league victory.

Golf

Kennett 198, Unionville 232

Kennett moved to 15-1 overall and 11-1 in the Ches-Mont as Zach Dilcher (36) and Adam Birmingham (37) led the way at Hartefeld.

Boys Soccer

Kennett 5, Sun Valley 0

Five different players scored for the Blue Demons in the Ches-Mont League rout, and goalie Greg Danchik made three saves to post the shutout.

Girls Tennis

Kennett 7, Octorara 0

Sophomore Jamie Smith won her first varsity match with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 3 singles as the Demons improved to 10-2.

Girls Tennis

Unionville 7, Oxford 0

The Indians (12-0 Ches-Mont) stayed undefeated in the league as Jackie Lane won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles.

Volleyball

Kennett 3, Sun Valley 2

Kennett (7-2 Ches-Mont) earned a hard-fought 27-25, 25-9, 23-25, 18-25, 15-8 victory. Amy DeNenno (five aces), Katrina Sungail (18 kills, four blocks), Madison Dietz (21 digs) and Julianne Eklund (19 kills) led the way.

Friday, October 9

Field Hockey

W.C. East 1, Unionville 0

East (4-10 overall) picked up the nonleague victory on the heels of a first half goal. Unionville goalie Sammy Carlino made 15 saves in the game.

Girls Soccer

Kennett 4, Avon Grove 0

Taylor DeVoe and Rian Salasin each netted two goals for the Demons as Kennett improved to 7-5-1 overall with the nonleague rout of host Avon Grove.

Boys Soccer

Unionville 2, Marple Newtown 1

Unionville (12-1 overall) rallied from a 1-0 deficit to score the nonleague win on the strength of goals from Jay Conroy and Rob Crowley.

Monday, October 12

Field Hockey

W.C. Rustin 2, Kennett 0

Kennett (2-7-1 league) was shutout in the Ches-Mont American Division loss to Rustin (7-3 league).

Girls Tennis

Conestoga 4, Unionville 1

In the opening round of the District 1 Class AAA playoffs, Central League champion Conestoga (14-2 overall) ended Unionville's season.

Volleyball

Unionville 3, Garnet Valley 0

Unionville (9-0 league) stayed undefeated in Ches-Mont play with the easy 25-10, 25-12, 25-8 victory. Rachel Fink (four kills), Ann Marie Scaggs (seven assists) and Kelly Hewton (five aces, seven digs) led Unionville.

Volleyball

W.C. Rustin 3, Kennett 2

Kennett (7-3 league) suffered the hard-fought Ches-Mont League loss by scores of 25-17, 25-21, 22-25, 15-25 and 15-6.
