Ronald R. Lockhart, 71, of Downingtown, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester.He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth M. (nee Frederick) Lockhart, with whom he shared 18 years of marriage.
Born in Gary, Ind., he was the son of the late Ross and Gwyneth A. King Lockhart.
He was a 1955 graduate of Crown Point High School in Indiana. He served in the U.S. Navy, attaining the rank of E-3, and also the Naval Training Course rating of hospital corpsman third class.
Mr. Lockhart was the owner/operator of Lockhart Jewelers in Downingtown for 27 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Downingtown.
In his younger years, he owned and operated an airport in Indiana and was an accomplished pilot.
He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of Lu Temple.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Lockhart is survived by his son, Kevin L. of Dyer, Ind.; and by daughters, Tracy L. Wagner of Harrisburg and Robin N. Bransford of Parkesburg. He is also survived by his brother, Scott Lockhart of Colorado; and by grandchildren, Ronald Kyle and Eric Lockhart, Zachary, Elizabeth and Patricia Bransford, and Jose and Alexandria Alcantara; and by his great-grandchild, Elana Lockhart.
