Paul O. Taylor, 82, of Westwood, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2008, at the Pembrooke Health and Rehab Center, where he had resided for the past five years.He was the beloved husband of Thelma Skiles Taylor, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Ralph and Alta Wallace Taylor.
He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1946.
He was employed by the former Lukens Steel in the locomotive shop, retiring in 1987.
Paul was a life member of the Westwood Fire Company and a 50-year member and past master of the Brandywine-Goddard Lodge #383.
He was very active in Scouting, volunteering for 48 consecutive years and earning numerous positions and awards.
He was a 50-year member of the former Presbyterian Church of Coatesville, presently the Coatesville Bible Fellowship, where he served as ruling elder and deacon.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two children, Ronald P. Taylor, husband of Bev, of Nebraska, and Kathy Zidan of Phoenixville; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one brother, Wilmer Taylor of East Fallowfield.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
