Solanco offers Adult Education ClassesThe Solanco School District will soon begin another round of courses in its popular Adult Education Program.

A brand new course -Introduction to Internet and email - has been included in the schedule. In addition, the Solanco School District will provide a full slate of some of its more popular Windows, Word and Excel courses.

The computer courses will be taught by Solanco School District teachers and technology experts Stacy Kline and Todd Silimperi. People who complete a course will be awarded a certificate of completion.

While the courses are free, residents are asked to register by calling Jane Girvin at 786-5626.

Following is a list of the upcoming courses (all sessions are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.):

Introduction to Windows XP. Smith Middle School. Thursdays, Jan. 24, 31 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Introduction to Internet and email. Smith Middle School. Thursdays, Feb. 7, 21, 28. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m..

Introduction to Microsoft Word 2003. Smith Middle School. Thursdays, March 6, 13, 20. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2003. Smith Middle School. Tuesdays, March 18, 25. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Blending Powerpoint, Excel and Word. Solanco High School. Mondays. Feb. 11, 18. 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Advanced Microsoft Word. Solanco High School. Mondays February 25, March 3, 10. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
