Mildred E. McCauley Ficca, devoted wife and mother, of Coatesville, died Tuesday, June 24, at the home of her daughter, Patricia.She was the wife of the late Paul J. Ficca, who died in 1992 and with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Harvey R. and Nettie Cochran McCauley.

At age 17, she met her future, loving husband while walking home from school. Millie and Paul began dating, and in 1939 they attended her senior prom at Coatesville High School, where she graduated that same year. Soon thereafter, in January 1940, they were married in Manassas, Va., and began a happy life together.

Millie remained in their first home after Paul's death in 1992 until recently.

Millie found much joy raising her children, cooking, reading, fashions, her dog and cats, being with friends, collecting old glassware and doing at least one crossword puzzle a day.

She was a member of the former First Baptist Church in Coatesville for more than 70 years, where she served as the Sunday school treasurer.

She is survived by her son, Donald Ficca and his wife Pat of Coatesville and her daughter Patricia F. Fisher and her husband Mick of Coatesville; two granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; six great-grandsons; two step-great-grandsons; and one step-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by an older brother, Robert L. McCauley, who died tragically when he was 9 and Millie was 6 years old.
