Marjorie "Margie" Rohrer, 78, formerly of Ronks, died at Fairmount Homes Retirement Community on Monday, Feb. 4. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Abram M. and Margaret A. Snyder Rohrer.Margie was a member of the former Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday school and Bible school. She once wrote, "God has been good to me." Margie's faith and love of God was the foundation of her life, and she shared that love in a life of service to others.
She worked at sewing factories in Bareville and Strasburg, and then at Willow Valley in kitchen service from 1986 to 1996. Her interests included the Paradise Singles Group, sewing, reading, traveling, playing piano and singing.
Margie is survived by her sister Ruth, wife of Harold Hershey of Quarryville, sister-in-law Patricia Dippner Rohrer of Ronks, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Wivell, and her brother, Warren Rohrer.
The viewing was Saturday, Feb. 9 at Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church, Mt. Pleasant and White Oak roads, Paradise.
