Marjorie "Marge" P. Simmers, 70, died at the home of her daughter, Daphne Mitchell in West Chester on Wednesday, July 1.

Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie Brown Pennington.

Mrs. Simmers attended the First Baptist Church Kennett Square, Kennett Square.

A cafeteria manager, she was employed by the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District, for over 30 years, retiring in 2003.

She is survived by one son, Daniel C. Simmers of Baton Rouge, La.; two daughters, Daphne Mitchell and her husband, Marvin, of West Chester and Darlene Sosis and her husband, Jay, of Coatesville; two sisters, Carol Jewell and Elwin of Ventnor, N.J., and Betty Griffith of Quarryville; and five grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph.

Her funeral was Monday, July 6, at the First Baptist Church, Kennett Square. Interment was private.
