Jimmy Carroll coming to The Flash
Take a humorous stroll down memory lane with Jimmy Carroll and The Last of the Boomers at the Kennett Flash on Friday, Nov. 23. Catholic Schools Expo at St. Rocco
The Office of Catholic Education of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will host a Catholic Schools Expo at Saint Rocco Catholic Parish in Avondale on Nov. 4 for families in the area who are interested in learning more about providing their children with a Catholic education. Representatives from the following parish schools in Chester County will be present before and after Mass: Assumption BVM Parish School in West Grove; Saint Cornelius Parish School in Chadds Ford; and Sacred Heart Parish School in Oxford, to provide information about their specific school. Volunteers from ABVM who are bilingual will be present to welcome any interested family and to offer assistance.

BVC holiday concert set Dec. 8
Mark your calendars and save the date for the annual holiday concert of The Brandywine Valley Chorale (BVC). The BVC will be presenting ‘A Brandywine Christmas’. The centerpiece of the performance will be “The Snow Lay on the Ground” by Julian Wachner, a collection of nine unique arrangements of well known and loved Christmas carols, accompanied by a brass ensemble. In addition, the concert will also feature American composor Daniel Pinkam’s “Christmas Cantata”. St. Michael Lutheran Church will be hosting the concert on Saturday, December 8, 2018, beginning at 7:30 pm. A reception with refreshments will follow. The church is located at 109 E. Doe Run Rd., Unionville. Tickets will be available at the door or may be purchased online at thebvc.org . The cost of the tickets are: $20 adult: $15 student/ seniors.
Bridging meeting slated Nov. 15
Bridging the Community meeting will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7 pm at First Baptist Church, 415 W. State Street, Kennett Square. This meeting is open to all Kennett area residents who would like to become more involved in the community. Attendees learn about the needs and resources in the area and discover ways to collaborate. ‘Curious Savage’ to take stage at UHS
‘The Curious Savage’ will take the stage Nov. 8, 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. at Unionville High School. It is the story of an elderly widow named Mrs. Savage, whose husband has left her $10 million dollars. She intends to give the entire fortune away to people who wish to pursue their “foolish dreams,” but her stepchildren strongly object. To prevent her from doing away with their family’s wealth and ruining their legacy, they have her committed to a sanatorium called The Cloisters, and it is among the gentle residents there that she finds her true family. Adult tickets are $7 and just $5 for students. There is also a special performance being offered to our senior citizens at 5 pm Nov. 7.
Veterans breakfast set in Oxford
The Oxford veterans breakfast will be held Nov. 10 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Oxford Area Senior Center, 12 East Locust Street in Oxford. Any veteran and one guest are welcome to attend for a free breakfast. To volunteer: 484-645-4513.
Community Thanksgiving Service
A Community Thanksgiving Service in which several churches come together will take place Nov. 18. All are welcome to this special service led by First Baptist Church, St Patrick's Church, Episcopal Church of the Advent and Unionville Presbyterian Church. The service will be held at St. Patrick's Church on Nov. 18 and begins at 7 p.m.
