KAU Little League Juniors Division All Stars (14U) defeated Caln to win the District 28 title.

KENNETT SQUARE—KAU Little League Juniors Division All Stars (14U) put up ten runs in the first on its way to a 12-1 victory over Caln on Tuesday. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Chris Murphy, Vincent Prestianne, Mason Coursey, and Trevor Dunne, doubles by Dunne and Brennan Smith, a walk by Sean Regenye, and an error on a ball put in play by Patrick McManamon.

Bailey Shindle led things off on the mound for KAU. He allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out five. KAU tallied 11 hits on the day. Smith, Murphy, and Dunne all managed multiple hits for KAU. Brennan Smith went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Kennett Square "Knights". KAU didn't commit a single error in the field. Sean Regenye anchored the defense with outstanding catching throughout the district tournament.

KAU defeated Caln 4-1 on July 6, topped West Bradford/Downingtown Little League 9-8 on July 7, before winning the District 28 Championship on July 9th with their second win over Caln. KAU takes on the District 23 champion, Octorara Little League, on Monday July 15. The winner of that game will play Shippensburg Little League, the District 14 Champion, on July 16 in Shippensburg, PA in the Section 7 Junior International tournament. The Section 7 Champion will compete for the Pennsylvania championship July 23-28 in Dubois, PA. In 2017, KAU was the Junior League US Champions. The manager of the KAU team is Bill McManamon with Mike Prestianne and Kevin Murphy his assistant coaches. The full roster of players are: Austin Houtchens, Bailey Shindle, Brennan Smith, Chris Murphy, Logan Sarosi, Luca Urdaneta, Mason Coursey, Matthew Patrissi, Patrick McManamon, Sean Regenye, Trevor Dunne, Tyge Thomas, and Vincent Prestianne.

KAU Little League provides a positive youth sports environment for children throughout the local community. KAU is open to players ages 4 - 16 who reside in or attend public or private school within the geographic boundaries of both Kennett Consolidated and Unionville-Chadds Ford School Districts. KAU offers tee ball, baseball, softball, and a Little League Challenger Division.
