The Brandywine Health Foundation's President and CEO, Frances Sheehan is pleased to announce that the Brandywine Consignment Shop has donated nearly $200,000 to the foundation. "The shop plays a vital role in enabling the foundation to make generous grants to area non-profit organizations, and we are grateful for their invaluable, significant support. Since the foundation's inception in 2001, it has invested more than $6.8 million in grants to non-profit organizations that improve the health of local residents, and nursing scholarships. The focus of these grants has been primarily on strengthening the safety net of healthcare providers in the area serving those with little or no health insurance."Nancy Oliver, the Brandywine Consignment Shop's manager noted that the partnership with the Brandywine Health Foundation has been a solid, positive relationship. "We are so pleased that the funds we have raised are strategically directed by the foundation to such worthwhile agencies and programs in our local community and in knowing that the foundation has been such excellent stewards of our donations." The shop has been able to donate the nearly $200,000 to the foundation because of the hard work and dedication of more than 50 volunteers and its staff. For more than 17 years, the shop has been selling beautiful, like-new clothing and household items to our community.
