Unionville High School graduates Colin and Greg Leak recently became the only two brothers in the country to each qualify for the 2008 NCAA National Cross Country Championships.Colin Leak will compete at the Division I level after helping to lead William & Mary to a first place finish at the prestigious Southeast Region Championship. Leak placed ninth overall out of 212 runners at the meet, and passed a University of Virginia runner at the finish line, enabling William & Mary to capture the team title. They finished ahead of perennial powerhouses North Carolina State, Duke, North Carolina, Louisville and Virginia Tech.
Greg Leak qualified at the Division III level after helping lead Dickinson to a third place finish at the Mideast Region Championship. Leak finished third overall at the meet out of 306 runners. His finish, and the team finish, were the highest in the history of the Dickinson College cross country program.
Both Colin and Greg Leak were also named to their respective All-Region teams.
