"Beauty and the Beast" at Kennett Middle School

Kennett Middle School presents "Beauty and the Beast, Jr." on Friday, May 8th at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, May 9th at 1:00 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $4 for students and $6 for adults. At the Saturday matinee, dress as your favorite character and meet the cast following the show for pictures and autographs. (1195 Sunny Dell Road, Landenberg, PA)

Congratulations to KHS Communications Students

Mr. Frank Vanderslice, TV/Studio Communications Instructor announces student awards. Congratulations to Cam Starr whose two videos received honorable mention in the regional EMMY Awards sponsored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. His videos included a sports video on boys basketball and a news story on Mr. Hironimus' art class. In addition, Jarred Geis received honorable mention in the Main Line Film Festival. Cam Starr and Zack Reinhardt's films were also screened at the festival and were among the top finalists up for the festival award.

Greenwood Elementary Kicks off Coins for a Cure

Greenwood Elementary kicks off its Coins for a Cure Campaign to raise awareness and collect donations for the American Cancer Society from May 7 through May 14.

Art Contest Winners for 2009-2010 District Calendar

KCSD is happy to announce that Esther Flax, an eighth grader at KMS is the winner of the 2009-2010 District calendar art contest. Her pencil sketch will be featured on the front cover of the calendar as well as on an inside page. Students from kindergarten through twelve grades were asked to create a piece of artwork that best reflected the District's values. Values include respect and responsibility, honesty and integrity, diversity, cooperation, friendship, gratitude, self-discipline, compassion and empathy, and perseverance. Education Celebration Program

The Kennett Education Foundation has a new program, the Education Celebration Program. Friends and community groups may host a lunch, dinner or any other type of party to honor a cherished teacher, coach, principal or other member of the school community.
