Julian A. Zinzarella, 84, of Coatesville, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at the Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit, West Chester.He was the husband of Ella R. Zinzarella, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.

Born in Mt Carmel, he was the son of the late August Zinzarella and Justina Stanchina Zinzarella.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, where he was a lector.

He was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School in 1941 and Bloomsburg State Teachers College in 1944. He received a master's degree in school administration from the University of Pennsylvania.

He retired from Coatesville Area School District in 1985. He was a history teacher for 16 years and principal of Gordon Junior High School for 25 years.

He was past president of the Lions Club of Coatesville, past president of Coatesville Teachers Association, member of the National Education Association, PSEA, PSEA Retired, National Principals Association, National Secondary Principals Association, Pennsylvania Secondary Principals Association and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

He enjoyed traveling, cruising and eating, and he loved his car.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Dr. Reno M. Zinzarella and his wife, Helene, of Allentown, N.J.; brothers-in-law, James Moran and Albert Rossi; a nephew; three nieces; three grandnephews; a grandniece; and many relatives in Terzolas, Trentino Province, Italy. He considered all his students his children.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Feb. 18, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Ave., Coatesville.
