Joshua D. Wuertz, 34, of Glenmoore, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.He was the husband of Shannen A. Blevins Wuertz, with whom he shared four years of marriage.

Born in West Chester, he was the son of Charles E. and Esther Smith Wuertz of Honey Brook.

A 1992 graduate of Twin Valley High School, he was also a 1997 graduate of Millersville University and the Reading Police Academy.

He served as a police officer with the North Coventry Police Department for 10 years and became a member of Glen Moore Fire Company Station 48 in 1989, where he served as assistant fire chief.

In addition to his wife and his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Lillyen; a brother, Christopher Wuertz and wife, Ann, of Glen-moore; three nieces; aunts, uncles and many cousins in Pennsylvania and Toledo, Ohio.

A funeral service was held Thursday, Jan. 24, at East Brandywine Baptist Church, 999 Horseshoe Pike, Downingtown.
