Ortan Marie 'Tanny' Potts Depte of CoatesvilleOrtan Marie "Tanny" Potts Depte, 77, of Coatesville, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late George Potts Sr. and Mamie Brewer.

Educated in the Coatesville Area School District, she attended the James Adams School.

She was employed with the Lasko Co., Embreeville State Hospital and the VA Medical Center in Coatesville.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Coatesville, where she was a member of the choir.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, painting, singing, shopping and arts and crafts.

She married James N. Depte Sr. and from that union there were four children.

She is survived by three children, Corinthian Depte Sr. and his wife, Marvine, of Coatesville, Larry Depte and his wife, Laverne, of Blue Bell and James Depte and his wife, Crystal, of East Fallowfield; a sister, Jacqueline Tolliver of East Orange, N.J.; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Depte; 10 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Depte; three brothers, Edward Potts Sr., George Potts Jr. and Clinton Brewer; and a sister, Sarah Potts.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 26, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Eighth Avenue and Coates Street, Coatesville.

Interment was in New Evergreen Cemetery, Coatesville. Arrangements by Emmett Golden Hunt Memorial Chapel Inc., Coatesville.
