Anson B. Nixon Park will host its first Fall Jam featuring local artists. Headlining the festival will be Newark's Mad Sweet Pangs bringing their unique blend of rock, funk & jam to the Anson B. Kennett Square Public Works director said that the railroad crossing at South Broad Street has already had a failure and they will need to close South Broad at the railroad tracks again to make the repairs. They will be closing the road on Saturday, Sept. 13, for eight hours during the day. The detour route will be posted again.
Kennett Square Historical Commission Chairman Dan Maffei annoucned that Chester County Day, Oct, 4, will be in the southwestern quadrant of the county. That means Kennett Square will be prominently featured.

If you would like to be a volunteer for "The Day," the committee is looking for people to serve as parking attendants in half-day shifts. Bring your hazardous wastes to New Garden Township Maintenance Garage on Route 431 on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Acceptable are cleaning and toxic materials. Not acceptable are tires, medical waste, explosives and appliances. Dispose of latex paint at home.
