Boys Basketball

Unionville 33, Garnet Valley 28

Unionville got a team-high 12 points from Miles Holmes and the Indians used a strong fourth quarter to prevail in its season opener in the Unionville Tip-Off Tournament.

Boys Basketball

Lampeter-Strasburg 66, Kennett 35

The Blue Demons were no match for the hosts in the opening round of the Lampeter-Strasburg Tip-Off Tournament.

Girls Basketball

Ridley 37, Kennett 23

Kennett (0-1 overall) received a team-high 12 points from Jamie Cummings but the Demons dropped its season opener in the Ridley Tip-Off Tournament

Girls Basketball

C.B. South 59, Unionville 33

Keli Anderson (14 points) and Liz Carney (eight points) led Unionville but the Indians came up short in the opening round of the Springfield Tournament.

Boys Swimming

Malvern Prep 103, Unionville 79

Unionville (0-1 overall) dropped its season opener despite wins from Sean McCarthy (50-free), Dakin Bond (100-back) and Derrick Hayes (200-free).

Girls Swimming

Villa Maria 100, Unionville 85

Laura Stephens won the 200-free and 100-breast but the Indians dropped its season opener.

Saturday, December 12

Boys Basketball

Marple Newtown 52, Unionville 43

Unionville fell to 1-1 on the young season with the loss on the second night of the Unionville Tip-Off Tournament. Miles Holmes (21 points) and Zack Ross (11 points) led the Indians.

Girls Basketball

Kennett 45, Interboro 41

Kennett (1-1 overall) earned its first win of the young season as Stephanie Maciag (11 points), Taylor DeVoe (11 points) and Anna DeBerardinis (nine points) led the way in the consolation game of the Ridley Tip-Off Tournament.

Girls Basketball

Unionville 60, Penn Wood 37

Unionville (1-1 overall) scored its first victory of the season with the win in the consolation round of the Springfield Tournament. Liz Carney (14 points), Keli Anderson (14 points) and Moira McEvoy (12 points) led the way.

Unionville 39, Rising Sun 28

Unionville (2-4 overall) earned the nonleague win as they received key victories from Scott Seidenberger (119) and Billy Rechle (189).
