Henry W. McKinney Sr., 83, of West Grove died on Thursday, Feb. 14, at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford.He was the husband of Laura Shives McKinney, with whom he shared 24 years of marriage.

Born in West Grove, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Eunice Beltz McKinney.

Mr. McKinney was a licensed building contractor, electrician and plumber. He operated McKinney Oil, which was his heating, air conditioning and oil business for 56 years.

He attended the Avon Grove Church of the Nazarene in West Grove.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He loved to fly his helicopter for pleasure, but was the happiest when he was doing for others.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Henry W. McKinney III of West Grove, Harry W. McKinney of Chadds Ford and Harold W. McKinney of West Grove; two step-sons, Donald L. Poe of West Grove and Rodger L. Poe of Oxford; one daughter, Bonnie McKinney of West Grove; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy McKinney and Elva Lusby.

His funeral service was Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Avon Grove Church of the Nazarene. Burial was in St. John's Methodist Cemetery, Lewisville.
