Glenn R. Plank, 91, of Lionville, formerly of Downingtown, died on Sunday, June 22, 2008, at his home.Born on Feb. 2, 1917, in Downingtown to the late Park L. Plank and Effie Plank nee Rutter, Glenn was a 1936 graduate of Downingtown High School.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was an excellent horseman. In his youth he rode Steeplechase at Belmont for the Gladys Whitney stables. He later managed a breeding farm for the late Henry T. Keasbey of Uwchlan.

In his later years he had his own painting firm.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Plank nee Miller; son, Peter R. Plank (Shelly) of Lionville; daughter, Hollie P. Sturges (Lance) of Greensboro, N.C.; brother, W. Mylin Plank; and grandchildren, Clayton, Ryan and Douglas Sturges, all of Greensboro, N.C. he is also survived by two great-grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews.
