Gary S. "Doc" Miller, 54, of Parkesburg, passed away suddenly on Monday, Jan, 7 at the Brandywine Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte Harris Miller, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage.Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of Mattie Dickinson Miller of Christiana and the late Howard S. Miller, Sr. A Parkesburg resident for 25 years, he graduated from the Solanco High School, where he played sports, and excelled at basketball, garnering the record as the highest scorer. He was employed at Alcoa in Downingtown as a Press Operator for 27 years. He enjoyed music and playing his guitar, loved his grandchildren and was an avid Eagles fan.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one daughter, Tara A. Harris, and Companion Gregory Miller, of Parkesburg, two grand-daughters, Tamara C. and Teonna L. Harris, of Parkesburg, his siblings, Cynthia Washington, wife of Fred, of Willingboro, N.J., Sheila Miller of Albuquerque, N.M., Howard Miller, Jr., husband of Linda, of Lancaster, Diane Brown, wife of Omar, of Christiana, Arnold Miller, husband of Darlene, of Coatesville and Wanda Miller of Coatesville.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 11 AM at the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Zion Hill Rd., Atglen, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at the church from 9 AM until the time of the service.
