Visitors to Longwood Gardens on the weekend of September 26 and 27 will be treated to a Standard Flower Show by five National Garden Club member clubs held under the auspices of the Visitor Education Department of Longwood. The show will be held in the Longwood's Conservatory Saturday from 1-5 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.
The committee of more than 35 members has been planning the flower show for many months and includes members of the Spade and Trowel Club of Kennett Square, Four Seasons Garden Club of Kennett Square, The Garden Class of the Women's Community Club of Uwchlan, The Country Gardeners and the Wayne Woods Garden Club.
Some entry positions are still available in the Table Artistry, Horticulture, Artistic Crafts and Youth sections. Interested persons should contact Peggy Hartwick, Longwood Flower Show Chairman, at 610.363.7545. It is not necessary to be a member of a garden club to enter an exhibit.
Judges from New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania will follow National Garden Clubs Standards for judging entries.
Garden Club members hope to inspire visitors by displaying horticulture specimens in exciting and beautiful floral designs.
