NEW GARDEN >> A 19-year-old man was lured into a building on Thompson Road, attacked and beaten in what police are calling a drug deal gone bad.
New Garden Police arrested four people in connection with the incident which took place Oct. 30 at 2:11 p.m. in the 200 block of Thompson Road.
Arrested were: Byron Johnston, 18, Cody Kinsley, 19, Christian Watson, 18 and Devon Moses-Johnson, 19. All were charged with robbery, conspiracy, simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment, possession of a controlled substance and related charges.
According to police, officers responded to the 200 block of Thompson Road for the report of an assault. When police arrived, they learned the incident was the result of a botched drug deal between the victim and the four suspects. During the altercation, the suspects assaulted the victim and attempted to remove his wallet, police said.
During the assault, the victim sustained several lacerations to his face as well as dental injuries. The victim received medical treatment from responding EMS and will require further medical treatment.
After arraignment the suspects were remanded to Chester County Prison in lieu of bail.
