The West Grove-Avondale Rotary Club is collecting items for American troops serving in Iraq.Troops need toiletries, magazines, CD-R's, CD-RW's and DVD-R's, stationery paper, hygiene products, beef jerky, power bars, power gel, weight gloves, jump ropes, sheets, pillow cases, pillows, AA batteries, black or OD green boot socks, Gold Bond foot powder in the blue bottle, hand sanitizer, lotion and phone cards.

Please take items to one of the following collection points:

? The Clubhouse at Traditions at Inniscrone, London Grove

? Legacy Solutions, 200 South Union St., at the intersection of Route 82 and Cypress Street, Kennett Square

? Avon Grove Library, Rose-hill Avenue, West Grove.

Loan forgiveness

The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency has extended the Armed Forces Loan Forgiveness Program to provide a one-time loan forgiveness benefit to servicemen and servicewomen.

The Armed Forces Loan Forgiveness Program was created to recognize the bravery, dedication, and loyalty of servicemen and servicewomen who served in the aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001, according to a press release.

As a continuing effort to keep motorists informed of interstate travel conditions, PennDOT has created an interstate travel advisory Web page.
