Edward E. Salmons, 57, of Warwick, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday, July 15 at St. Anthony's Community Hospital. He was the husband of Susan Russo Salmons.Born in West Chester, he was the son of Elmer E. and Lora "June" Farris Salmons of Avondale.

A veteran, he served his country in the U.S. Marines.

He was a professional thor-oughbred horse trainer, spending many years of his career at Delaware Park. Currently he was employed as a horse trainer for the Crabtree family of Warwick, N.Y.

He was an avid reader and other than his family, his greatest love was training and caring for horses.

In addition to his parents and wife, survivors include three daughters, Heather M. Salmons of Downingtown, Emily and Erin Salmons, both of Clayton, N.C.; five brothers, Fred Salmons and his wife, Carol of Marietta, Ga., Don Salmons of West Grove, Michael Salmons of York, Mark Salmons and his life partner, Stephen Rifici of Wilmington, Del., and Matthew Salmons of West Chester; three sisters, Carol Wyatt and her husband, Charles of Kennett Square, Regina Salmons of Coatesville, and Gale Steele and her husband, George of Lincoln University.

A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 21 at Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA. Interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square.
