Edward E. Salmons, 57, of Warwick, N.Y., died on Tuesday, July 15, at St. Anthony's Community Hospital.He was the husband of Susan Russo Salmons.

Born in West Chester, he was the son of Elmer E. and Lora "June" Farris Salmons of Avondale.

A veteran, he served his country in the U.S. Marines.

Mr. Salmons was a professional thoroughbred horse trainer, spending many years of his career at Delaware Park. Currently he was employed as a horse trainer for the Crabtree family of Warwick, N.Y.

He was an avid reader and, other than his family, his greatest love was training and caring for horses.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by include three daughters, Heather M. Salmons of Downingtown and Emily and Erin Salmons, both of Clayton, N.C.; five brothers, Fred Salmons and his wife, Carol, of Marietta, Ga., Don Salmons of West Grove, Michael Salmons of York, Mark Salmons and his life partner, Stephen Rifici, of Wilmington, and Matthew Salmons of West Chester; three sisters, Carol Wyatt and her husband, Charles, of Kennett Square, Regina Salmons of Coatesville and Gale Steele and her husband, George, of Lincoln University.

A funeral service was held on Monday, July 21, at Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, Kennett Square. Interment was in Union Hill Cemetery.
