Edna E. Stoltzfus, 79, formerly of Parkesburg, ascended on Sunday, Dec. 23, in Winter Park, Fla. She was the wife of Amos U. Stoltzfus, Jr., with whom she has been married for nearly 59 years.Born in Philadelphia, Edna was the daughter of the late William E. and Anna Backus. She and her husband owned and operated Walnut Grove Candy Farm for many years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of the the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by three children: Wayne L. Stoltzfus, husband of Melissa, of Evans, Ga., Marie E. Page, wife of Robert, of Middletown, De., and Daniel P. Stoltzfus, husband of Janice, of Orlando, Fl.; seven grandchildren; and one brother, William Backus Jr. of Florida. Edna was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Backus.

The funeral service was held on Friday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, PA 19365, followed by interment in the Glen Run Cemetery, Atglen. Family and friends were invited to attend the viewing, which was held at the Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
