The Hornets' boy's soccer team traveled to Octorara this past weekend, and while Oxford played tough against a Braves' team ranked seventh in the state in Class AA by the PA High School Soccer Coaches Association, Octorara came away with a 2-1 lead. The two teams were scoreless until 39-seconds remained in the first half and Greg Patrick took a pass from Mauriccio Cervantes and slipped it past Oxford keeper Kevin Navarro. Claudio Pilitteri added another Braves goal seconds into the second half to put the Braves up 2-0.

Navarro made some spectacular athletic saves over the course of the game to keep the Hornets in it, but the Hornets only score came late when Ryan Golder connected on a penalty kick.
