Breakfast with SantaBreakfast with Santa will take place at the West Bradford Fire Co, 1305 W. Strasburg Road in Marshallton on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Price is $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-10. Under age three is free. No reservations are needed. Proceeds benefit the Auxiliary to the West Bradford Fire Co.

Christmas Carol Service

Coatesville Area School District Meistersingers will hold their annual Christmas Carol Service at the high school campus on Saturday, December 13th at 8 p.m. and December 14 at 3:30 p.m. Tickets for this event are $5 for adults and $3.00 for students and senior citizens. Calan sponsors bus trip to NYC

Caln Township will be having a bus trip to New York City on December 13. Once in New York City, you are "on your own" to enjoy the day shopping, see a Broadway show or sightsee. Caln sponsors bus trip to DC

Caln Township also has a trip scheduled for Washington D.C. for April 11, 2009. This will be Cherry Blossom time in D.C. The bus trip leaves K-Mart at 7 a.m. and will make 2 stops at the Air and Space Museum and at the Holocaust Museum. The rest of the day is up to you. The bus will leave Washington D. C. at 5:30 p.m. and is expected in Thorndale near 8:30 p.m. If you are interested, contact the Park and Recreation Department at (610)-384-0600 ext. 4. The fee is $60 per person.

Santa Claus is Coming to Caln

Make sure you are awake early on Saturday December 13th, because Santa Claus will be visiting all the residents in Caln Township.

The firefighters of the Thorndale Fire Company will be escorting Santa around all the neighborhoods in Caln as he will be riding atop one of our fire engines. The firefighters will be handing out candy canes to everyone they see. If you hear sirens on Saturday morning, make sure to look out your window because Santa Claus might just be riding past!

The fire truck will be traveling through the neighborhoods, starting at 8 a.m, so be ready!

Three Cheers for Mentors

Three Cheers for Mentors will be the topic for the Dec. 9 session of The Quest for Authentic Manhood, being held from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Community Center, 752 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville.

The 24-week series, part of the national Men's Fraternity Christian curriculum, is open to all men of any age, regardless of religious affiliation. It is designed to explore the question of "What is a Man" and how men can enhance their relationships with spouses, children, parents, co-workers and others around them. Each session is self-contained so one can join in at any time. The only cost is $10 for a workbook.

Pancake Breakfast to Benefit Missionary in Liberia

Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 107 S. 17th Avenue, Coatesville, invites the community to a pancake breakfast on Saturday, December 20th from 8 - 10 AM. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Proceeds from this event will be sent to Ron Shellhamer, a missionary in Liberia and a former member of Good Shepherd.

Pancake breakfasts are held the third Saturday of the month, September through April, serving pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, coffee, tea and a special of the month.

Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is located at 107 South 17th Avenue, Coatesville, PA. Worship services Sundays at 8 AM and 10:30 AM and Sunday School for children, teens and adults at 9:15 AM. Come to Parents Afternoon Off

Thorndale United Methodist Church, will be holding a Parents Afternoon Off from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m this Saturday, December 13. Children 12 and under can be dropped off free of charge at the church for babysitting to allow parents to do some holiday shopping. According to Pastor Thomas Davis-Shappell, there will be age appropriate activities including taking pictures with Santa. The parents can then return at 5 p.m. and have dinner and a movie, "The Legend of the Candy Cane." at the church. The evening will end at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in participating can register the number of children and their ages who will be attending by calling (610)-384-2433.

Bus trip to Inner Harbor

Caln Township will be holding a bus trip to Baltimore Inner Harbor on Saturday, May 16, 2009. This trip is a "on your own" trip and only includes busfare. Sightseeing at the Baltimore National Aquarium or the Inner Harbor is not included. Skyling Boys Quartet in concert

The "Skyline Boys Quartet" will be in concert at Friendship Unioted Methodist Church Sunday, Jan. 4 at 11 a.m.

Begin the New Year in worship and celebration with the "The Skyline Boys" of Northern Virginia. Bring in the New Year with Southern Gospel music. The Skyline Boys are on tour in Pennsylvania and will be making a stop at our church. Be sure to mark this date on your calendar and invite your friends.

The Skyline Boys started in 1995 at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Their early rehearsals were held at a little church in Front Royal, Virginia. To name the group Dennis borrowed the moniker from the famed Skyline Drive which begins nearby.
