Annual Golf Tourney set
The annual Golf Tourney, benefiting the Parkesburg Abrary, will be held Monday, June 19 at Tanglewood Manor Golf Club, 653 Scotland Road, Quarryville. Registration and lunch will start at 11:30 a.m. Tee off is at 1 p.m. The cost is $85 and includes lunch, dinner, carts, greens fees and prizes. Moores Library Plant and Garden Faire
Moores Memorial Library, 326 N. Bridge Street, Christiana is holding their 5th Annual Plant Sale and Garden Faire Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will be held rain or shine at the Christiana Lion's Club Community Park (across the street from the library). Cornerstone Pregnancy Services
Cornerstone Pregnancy Care Services, a non-profit pregnancy care service, has welcomed four new members to their Board of Directors: Terry Merget of Coatesville; Joe Watson of Kinzers; and Adrian Young of Lititz. Beth Mellinger (board president) of Lancaster; Jeff Campbell of Paradise; Dr. David Abbott of Quarryville; and Jewell Shivery (vice president) of Christiana are also board members.
Cornerstone Pregnancy Care Services has three locations to serve men, women and teens who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy situation. Gap Women's Center located at 5287 Lincoln Hwy, Gap; Oxford Women's Clinic (limited OB ultrasound) 45 Lancaster Avenue, Oxford and for campus students only Lincoln University. Their services include free pregnancy testing and ultrasound, post-abortion counseling, sexual integrity program, adoption education, childbirth instruction and more.
Identifying Indian Artifacts
The Historical Society of Salisbury Township presents "How to Hunt for and Identify Indian Artifacts" by Bob Summers. It will be held April 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Salisbury Township Municipal Building, 5581 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap. Bring your Indian artifacts for identification.
Program for Youngest Readers
Atglen Public Library will host Raise A Reader at the Library on April 21 and 28 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Raise A Reader is a lap-sit program for infants ages 0-23 months and their parents or caregivers designed to give adults the skills to foster language development in their children. Cochranville Fire Company presents "The Fabulous Hubcaps" in concert at Octorara High School, Route 41 and Highland Road, Atglen, on Friday, May 19. Parent/Child Workshop set
The Parent/Child Workshop will be held Wednesday, May 3 to 31, from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the Parkesburg Library Children's Room.
