Town hall meeting on underage drinking scheduledThe Octorara community will be one of hundreds to be holding an underage drinking prevention town meeting on Thursday, April 3 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Octorara Middle School multipurpose room to discuss and raise awareness about the issue of underage driking.

Parents, teachers, officials, youth, and other community members will be educated about the impact that underage drinking has on the community, and they will develop possible ways to address this issue.

OES PTO Benefit Auction slated

The Octorara Elementary School PTO Benefit Auction is to be held on Saturday, April 5 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Octorara Primary Learning Center Cafeteria. The auction will feature a live and silent auction with all proceeds benefiting children in grades K-5. Dinner is a catered buffet-dinner supplied by Triple Fresh Catering.

Parkesburg Fire Co Quarter Auction slated

The Quarter Auction will be held on Sat, April 5 at the Parkesburg Fire Co at 329 First Ave, Parkesburg. Doors Open at 1:30 p.m. starts at 2 p.m.-Tickets are $1 per auction Paddle. Bring lots of quarters. Items from 13 different Consultants such as Noah's Ark Animal Workshops, Avon, Tupperware, Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, For Your Pleasure, Premier Design, Go Green, Design Inspired Hand-bags&Accessories, Mary Kay, Southern Living, and more. Basket and Pottery Bingo slated

Join us for a fun-filled evening at the Cochranville Fire Hall, 3135 Limestone Rd., Cochranville. A Basket and Pottery Bingo, including 20 games and 3 specials, is slated for Saturday, April 19. Doors open at 6 p.m. Early bird bingo starts at 6:50 p.m. There will also be Cash Bingo and Blackout Bingo.

Golden Agers Club to meet

The Golden Agers Club of Cochranville will meet on Tuesday, April 8 at 1 p.m. at the Cochranville Fire Hall, Route 10, south of Route 41. During the program called "Family Times", Levi Glick will share stories about growing up in an Amish home. All senior citizens of the area, as well as visitors are welcome.
