Library to host program on coin collecting

The Quarryville Library will be hosting a program about Coin Collecting on Saturday, May 6 at 2 p.m. The program will be conducted by David Jordan and will last about 30 minutes with another 30 minutes for discussion and questions. Jordan will also be at the library on Saturday, May 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. to let patrons handle the coins in the display and to answer any coin related questions people may have. Jordan will have some of each state's quarters to help people bring their collection up to date. People may swap a regular quarter for any state quarter they need. Library to host program on reminiscing

The Quarryville Library will be hosting a presentation entitled: Reflections: Life Review and Reminiscing on Thursday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m. Hospice of Lancaster County speaker, Joan Groh, Community Education representative, will be conducting the program. This program provides insight on how and why reminiscing occurs and the benefits that are produced as individuals achieve a renewed sense of value, resolution and hope through sharing their life stories. SECA gets ready for plant sale

The Southern End Community Association is getting ready for its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stone House Traditions, 247 W. State Street, Quarryville. Hundreds of beautiful plants and flowers will be available at great prices. All proceeds benefit SECA programs and facilities.

Community Closet to hold Fashion Show

The Community Closet will hold a fashion show Tuesday, May 2, at the Hoffman Building on the Solanco Fairgrounds. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available for sale. Come for a night of fashion and fellowship to help people in the community. Tickets are available at the New Hope Community Closet in the Towns Edge Shopping Village. A $5 donation is appreciated. 'Memories of Elvis' presented in Quarryville

The Lancaster Heart and Stroke Foundation "In Elvis Presley's Memory Presents Michael Hoover's Memories of Elvis Saturday, May 13. The eighth annual Memories of Elvis show featuring Michael Hoover will be held in the Hoffman Building of the Solanco fairgrounds in Quarryville. As in the past, Hoover's unique rock n' roll show promises to provide a fun-filled time for all ages. An auction will be held starting at 2 p.m. until show time the day of the event. One donated item per person would be a appreciated. So far, $24,000 has been raised. Show times are approximately 7 and 9 p.m.

Drumore High School Alumni Banquet scheduled

All graduates of Drumore and Solanco High School, who were residing in Drumore Township at the time of graduation, are invited to attend the Alumni Banquet at 5 p.m. and dinner at 5:30 p.m. at the Chestnut Level Church House on Saturday, May 6.
