Robert Fulton Fire Co. to host breakfast buffet

The Robert Fulton Fire Company Auxiliary will host an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast on Saturday, April 15 from 6:30 to 11 a.m. at the fire hall in Wakefield Routes 272/222 south.

Relay for Life team to hold "Baskets and More Bingo"

The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Team, Powl's Country Chicks will be holding a "Baskets and More Bingo" Sunday, April 23 at the Hoffman Building in Quarryville. The doors open at noon and games start at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $15 for 22 games of Bingo. There will also be special "surprise" drawings throughout the afternoon in addition to great door prizes that will be given away. Raffle items and homemade food will be for sale. Historical society slates meeting

The Southern County Historical Society meeting will be held in the archives across from the Robert Fulton Birthplace, April 15 at 1:30 p.m. The program will be a "Video of Travels" by Bob Lester. The public is invited to attend.

Village Green to hold Easter Egg Hunt's

Village Greens Miniature Golf Course in Strasburg is holding its annual Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The hunt features a visit from the Easter Bunny, along with prizes, candy and eggs galore! Each hunt features three categories for children ages 2 to 3, 4 to 6 and 7 to 12. Egg hunters are encouraged to bring their own baskets or bags. Other free activities between the hunts include face painting, sidewalk chalk Easter drawings and a golf skill game. children will also get to pet real bunnies and chickens. Easter Egg Hunt to to be held at Muddy Run Park

Grab your basket and hop over to Muddy Run Park in Holtwood, for the Easter Egg Hunt. The egg hunt will be held Saturday, April 15 for children ages 10 years and under and will begin at 1 p.m. at the Information Center. The park is located on Route 372, 5 miles west of the Buck. Carlson paintings on display at Quarryville Library

C.X. Carlson Trust paintings are on display in the Carlson Cultural Room at the Quarryville Library now through May 5 to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the library building. The exhibit is free of charge.

SECA to hold Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

The Southern End Community Association will hold its second annual Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 14, at the SECA Center in Memorial Park in Quarryville. Youth ages 11 to 15 are invited to bring their flashlights and enjoy a fun Easter egg hunt on the SECA grounds in the dark. More than 1,500 eggs filled with prizes and candy will be hidden. Special "Golden Eggs" will be hidden for special prizes. All participants must bring their own flashlight! The event is free for youth to participate. Contact SECA at 806-0123 for questions.

Coffee Bean to hold Preschool Storytime

Every Thursday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at The Coffee Bean, 201A E. State St., Quarryville, children can hear stories read by Abbey while parents relax. At the end of the stories, children will receive a cookie. For information on any upcoming events, call 786-1792.

Local organizations plan clean up at Pequea on Earth Day

Volunteers are needed to help PPL, the Outboard Boating Club of Lancaster County and the Pequea Boat Club clean up a 4-mile stretch of the Susquehanna River shoreline north and south of Pequea on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Volunteers should be 12 years of age or older and plan to meet at the PPL public boat ramp in Pequea at 8:45 a.m. to register. The boat ramp can be accessed by following Route 324 south to its end at the Susquehanna River in Pequea.

Appropriate footwear for hilly river terrain and swampy areas is recommended. Trash bags will be provided.

A light lunch will be served following the clean up. Door prizes donated by local businesses will be awarded.
