Lions Host Basket BingoThe Parkesburg Lions Club will hold its 5th annual Basket Bingo Saturday, March 8, at the Octorara High School Cafeteria. Proceeds benefit local scholarships and community groups.

The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and there will be an early bird game for advance ticket holders only at 6:45 p.m. with the regular games to follow at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for 20 regular games. You can purchase raffle tickets, 50/50 chances, and cards for two blackout games.

Auxiliary slates meeting

The Cochranville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary's Monthly meeting will be held March 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cochranville Fire Hall. Anyone interested please come. Anyone interested in becoming a member, call 610-593-6720.

St. Patrick's Beef and Beer

Our Lady of Consolation Early Learning Center is hosting its 2nd Annual St. Patrick's Day Beef and Beer, Saturday March 15 from 7 p.m. to midnight. at the Schneider Parish Center, Parkesburg. Entertainment will be provided by the bands "Skin Tight" and the "RELYKS" as well as dancers from the Cara School of Irish Dance. Tickets are $30/person and $55/couple and can be purchased by calling 610-857-1163. Ticket includes: All-you-can-eat roast beef, baked ziti, garden salad, "Midway" coleslaw, "Sciarretta's" potato salad and cake, drink (beer, soda, water, or B.Y.O.B) and desserts.

Craft & Antique Fair set

Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 2nd Ave. & West St., Parkesburg, is planning its annual Craft & Antique Fair for Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine and vendor spaces are available outside, under tents. Local history program at Moores Memorial Library

A Who's Who of the Christiana Resistance of 1851 is slated for Saturday, March 8 at 1 p.m. to be held at Moores Memorial Library, 326 N. Bridge Street, Christiana. Darlene Colon, president of the Christiana Historical Society, will talk about the people who were there on that other fateful Sept. 11th a day that changed the course of American history and led to the Civil War. The Parkesburg Point to hold its annual banquet

The Parkesburg Point's annual banquet is slated for March 15 at 5:30 p.m. There is no cost for the banquet but a donation will be expected, as this is a major fundraiser for the Point. A new addition this year will be a silent auction. Some of the items up for auction will be a limited edition, 75th anniversary Eagles football signed by Donovan McNabb, an autographed glossy print of Jason Smith, rookie forward-center for the 76ers basketball team, a summer cottage available for the Labor Day weekend, a mountain chalet available for a week or weekend, original paintings, and many other desirable items. The public is invited to participate in the fundraiser, but we must have an R.S.V.P. by March 7.
