Grief Support Groups

A grief support group, H.E.A.L. (Helping Endure After Loss), meets once a month in the parish center at St. Joseph's Church on Manor Ave, Downingtown, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., usually on the last Monday. Anyone is welcome to attend. For information, call 610-873-3564.

The AARP Chester County Widowed Persons Services invites any and all widowed persons (especially the newly widowed) to attend an evening of dinner and fellowship at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the dining area of Hoss's Restaurant at the crossroads of Routes 100 and 113, in the Exton/Lionville area. Also, all widowed persons are welcome to gather for breakfast on the first Saturday of each month at the Exton Diner, on the corner of Ship and Marchwood roads and Route 100. Alzheimer's Support Group

A support group for families and friends of individuals with serious memory loss will be offered on the second Wednesday of every month from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Inn at Freedom Village, 30 Freedom Blvd., West Brandywine, in the assisted living dining room. The group will be facilitated by trained social service staff and will provide mutual support, education and practical tips on dealing with changes in behavior. This support group is free and open to the public. The Inn at Freedom Village provides assisted living for people with memory impairments and will be offering free care during the support group meeting for those who request it. Bingo

Chester County Detachment Marine Corps League holds Family Style Bingo, in a non-smoking environment, on the first and third Saturday of each month, at 430 Chestnut St., Downingtown.
