Every year before Thanksgiving, a grade is chosen in one of the four Solanco elementary schools to write a few sentences about what they're thankful for during the holiday season. This year, Gina Noll's fourth grade class at Clermont Elementary School was chosen. The following is what they wrote.By Sophie Payne

I think Thanksgiving means having thanks in one another. It's not all about big or small feasts. It's about having thanks for having a turkey lunch or dinner or for the person who made it. I think everybody should celebrate Thanksgiving because it's a good way to thank people.

I am thankful for a lot of things, like school, parents, friends and family. I am thankful for school because I can learn and some people in other countries can't afford it. I am also thankful for my family, my two brothers, my mom and my dad and my three cats. I am thankful for my parents because they helped me through a lot and care for me and I love them for that. I am thankful for other things too.

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for what you have. Some people don't have what you have, like a home, clothes, money or any kind of shelter.

Thanksgiving is almost here so have a happy Thanksgiving!

What I'm thankful for is my family. I am thankful for my family because they love me and they always care about me. I am also thankful for Thanksgiving because it's a holiday that everybody comes together with their family and have turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, and gravy. I am also thankful for my friends. I am thankful for my friends because they're always nice to me and always play with me. I am also going to talk about what Thanksgiving means. A time when you get together with your family and spend time with them. It also means being thankful for everything that everybody did.

What I am thankful for is my family because they care about me and they love me. I am also thankful for food and water because without them we would die because we would have nothing to eat and nothing to drink. Another thing I am thankful for is Thanksgiving because you gather up with your family, aunts, uncles and grandmom and grandpa.

One thing is a house and I'm thankful for a family that cares about me. I'm thankful for my friends, that they help me out and don't leave me out on a game. I'm thankful for having clothes on my back, food on the table, plus shoes on my feet. I'm grateful for having a mom that helps me out when I need her. She is also always there for me, also my sister Christy. I love her. My brother sticks up for me. Plus I'm thankful for my dad for making money, so does my mom.

One thing I'm thankful for is the world. The world is a wonderful place and all the people live happily on the earth. We celebrate Thanksgiving and a lot more. Now about Thanksgiving. The main animal is a turkey and we hang pictures of pilgrims on Thanksgiving.

Another thing I'm thankful for is my pet hamster Whiskers. Whiskers is a loving pet and she makes my dad shine. Everyday I leave it wants to come. But I just love it before I go. I'm thankful for Whiskers because she loves me and I love her. When I look in Whiskers cage, I see the love in her eyes. I take her everywhere with me, and when its Thanksgiving, I give Whiskers a Thanksgiving meal.

When I hear Thanksgiving, it makes me thing of what happened in 1621 when the pilgrims went on land. "Would they ever make it out?" the crew probably said. Did the Indians freak out? It makes me grateful for living in America.

I am thankful for everything from things I like and don't. When Thanksgiving comes we always say a prayer for all we have and are thankful for. When I say a prayer, I thank for my food, water, and shelter, also for all the things I have. Thanksgiving means to give thanks to all the things we have. Also, giving to other people. That's what I'm thankful for and what I think Thanksgiving means.

I'm grateful for school because if we didn't have school we wouldn't know anything. The final thing I'm grateful for is my mom and dad for putting food in the house and putting shelter over our heads.

I'm thankful because every one pitches in for the food. Plus the food is awesome. I'm thankful because you get to see family and friends. This year I'm going to see my sister in Tennessee. That's awesome! That's why I am thankful.

I'm thankful for my brothers, sisters, mom and dad for celebrating Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for my dogs and cats and I'm thankful for books because I love to read books. I'm thankful for having a family. I love Thanksgiving because that is when the pilgrims celebrated Thanksgiving.

I'm thankful for God. I am thankful for God because if we didn't have God, we wouldn't have the world, there would be no people. If we didn't have God and there was people, where would we go when we die? Would we just be burned or stay in our grave for the rest of our life?

I am also thankful for family. I'm thankful for family because they love and care for me. Who would take care of kids if we didn't have family? I'm thankful for friends because they are there for me at school and when something goes wrong, they stand up for me.

What Thanksgiving is to me is a gathering with family. It's a time for family to talk and eat with each other. People eat any kind of food. Thanksgiving is just a time to hang out with other people.
