The Braves travel to Kennett on Thursday night, Dec. 11, to begin their Ches-Mont League schedule. Octorara's first home game comes next Tuesday, Dec. 16, when the Braves host Sun Valley.

Girls basketball

Octorara travels to Kennett for its Ches-Mont opener on Thursday, Dec. 11, then hosts Twin Valley on Friday, Dec. 12. Next Tuesday, the girls travel to Sun Valley.

Wrestling

Octorara gets its varsity season underway with competition at the Penn Manor Classic. Opening round action begins Friday night, Dec. 12, with the championship rounds slated for Saturday, Dec. 13.

Soccer

The Octorara Soccer Club is offering Indoor Training Sessions this winter. The sessions are open to all players from kindergarten through high school looking to keep their foot on the ball in the off season and improve their game. This is not a league. The training sessions will run on Monday nights from 6 - 7 p.m. starting Jan. 27, and will run through March 9 at Octorara Intermediate School. Cost is $50 per player. Alumni Update

At 174 pounds, former Brave Mike Letts began his day at the Penn State Nittany Lions' Open with a 16-0 technical fall over Delaware Valley's Zack Stavish. The Maryland red-shirt recorded his second straight technical fall, 22-5, over Penn State's Matt Dodds and then pinned Rider's Mike Ward in 4:18.

Letts advanced to the championship match with an 8-1 decision over Navy's Luke Rebertus. Lett's beat a second Nittany Lion on the day in the title bout, taking a 12-6 decision from No. 18 Quentin Wright for his fourth open title of this season. Letts also won the Eastern Michigan Open, Wolfpack Open and East Stroudsburg Open.

Basketball Season Tickets

The Octorara Area High School Athletic Department is selling separate regular season tickets for the boys basketball and girls basketball home games.

The season tickets are half the price of regular admission. There are eight home games for boys' basketball. The student season ticket is $12. and the adult season ticket is $20.

There are 10 home games for girls' basketball. The student season ticket is $15 and the adult season ticket is $25.

Season tickets are available in the high school office and at the door on opening night.
