Barbara Ann Sullivan Canale, 65, of Coatesville, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Brandywine Hospital.She was the wife of J. Michael Canale, with whom she was married for 38 years.
Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of Paul Franklin Sullivan of Grover and the late Catherine "Kitty" S. Anderson Hurley, who died in 2006, and stepdaughter of Elmer W. Hurley, who died in 1984.
She graduated from Scott High School in 1961 and Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1968.
She was employed by several local pharmacies, beginning when she was in high school at Bennington's Pharmacy, Sante's Pharmacy, Hennessy's Pharmacy and the Coatesville VA Medical Center Pharmacy, where she was chief of pharmacy and retired in 2006 after 20 years.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by one son, Paul Sullivan Canale and his wife, Adriane, of Fort Hood, Texas; stepchildren, Gigi Hayes and her husband, Tim, of Coatesville, Joel Baldwin of Parkesburg, Sherry Supplee of Atglen, Michelle Nusrallah and her husband, Riad, of Benbrook, Texas, Julius Michael Canale II and his wife, Kim, of Coatesville, and Jeffrey Canale of Coatesville; one sister, C. Victoria Moore and her husband, Noel, of Cleveland, Tenn.; grandchildren. Paul "PJ," Alexis and Abigael Canale, Rebekah Waltz, Samantha and Lydia Young, Matthew and Stephen Supplee, Adam and Jamal Nusrallah, Danielle, Julius Michael III and Dominic Canale and Joel Baldwin II.
