New York Times bestselling author Greg Cox, of Oxford, has two new books hitting the shelves this month.Death Defying Acts is the official movie novelitization of a new film starring Guy Pearce and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Cox's novel is based on the script for the movie in which Pearce stars as the legendary magician Harry Houdini, who becomes obsessed with a beautiful Scottish psychic back in 1926. The movie is now playing in limited release in New York and Los Angeles, while the novel is available both at bookstores and on-line.

The 4400: The Vesuvius Prophecy is an original novel based on the science fiction TV series about missing people who are retuned to earth with mysterious powers. In The Vesuvius Prophecy, federal agents must race to stop one of the 4400 from causing Mt. Rainier to erupt, destroying the entire city of Seattle. Cox, a devoted fan of the TV show, is now writing a second book in the series.
