Armed robbery suspect still at large in New Garden

A man who robbed a New Garden business Tuesday afternoon is still at large, police said.

New Garden Township police said the armed robbery took place at Reliable Communications (Cricket Wireless) store on May 17 at 5:58 p.m.

A man brandished a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money, police said. He then pointed the gun at several employees, holding them at bay while ransacking several drawers located behind the counter. When confronted by the owner, the suspect fled from the store and headed east toward Kennett Square.

Police arrived and scoured the area, but could not locate the suspect. He is described as a white male in his early 20. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a design printed on the back, dark blue jeans, black Vann style sneakers with white soles, a black T-shirt wrapped around his face and head. He also wore aviator-style sunglasses with blacck frames at the time of the armed hold-up.

No one was hurt during the daytime robbery, police said.
