KENNETT SQUARE—A Philadelphia man has been arrested in connection with the overdose death of a 44-year-old man from Kennett Square.
Shaakir T. Williams was arrested Nov. 14 following a nearly year-long investigation by authorities. He has been charged with delivering the drugs that resulted in the death of the Kennett man.
On Dec. 9, 2018, the Kennett Square Police Department investigated the overdose death in the early morning hours at an apartment in 100 block of West State Street. The victim was found unconscious and was later declared deceased after unsuccessful medical intervention.
Toxicology results indicated there was heroin and fentanyl in the victim's bloodstream.
William was arrested and charged with drug delivery resulting in death, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, endangering another person and criminal use of a communication facility.
