Southern Chester County YMCA set to host Healthy Kids Day
Southern Chester County YMCA has invited everyone to Healthy Kids Day and "Fitness Around the World" Saturday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free event is sponsored by Giant Foods and is open to the public. The event will feature kids activities, giveaways, family games, crafts, refreshments, educational displays and a chance to register for the Healthy Communities Challenge. Hershey and committeeman candidate to register voters at open house
Pat and John Vail are opening their home Saturday, April 8 from 2 to 4 pm to all residents of mobile home parks in Nottingham. There will be a meet and greet with State Rep. Arthur Hershey, R-16, attending. Hershey will explain all the services available to residents through his office and be available for questions. The Vails have long been involved with community affairs and Pat is currently the tax collector for West Nottingham and John is running for Republican Committeeman in the primary election. "Very few residents of mobile home parks are registered to vote and their voices are not heard," Pat explained. "We plan to have voter registrations available at the open house so those interested can participate in the primary election in May." The Vails' home is located at 138 Walnut Lane in Nottingham.
Longenberger Basket Bingo scheduled
With the help of parents, staff and the community, children at La Petite Academy will host their "spring fling" Longenberger Basket Bingo Saturday, April 8, at 2 p.m. Advanced tickets are $20, and tickets purchased at the door will be $25. This year's events mark the third year in a row children at La Petite Academy are helping to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
