<![CDATA[Aunt and uncle find worms in blackberries]]> A couple of weeks ago, I had my first opportunity to visit my aunt and uncle at their new "digs" at a retirement center near Princeton, New Jersey. Knowing how much I love gardening, before I left, they showed me their plot in the center's community garden. There wasn't much produce left at this time of year -- there were some zinnias, a few herbs and a dwindling squash vine -- but they had had a lot of fun and enjoyed some great vegetables from it earlier in the season.

It was the first public announcement in Chester County of a student coming down with the virus that is characterized by coughing, a runny nose, sore throat and in some cases, a fever.

This past June, with an appropriate amount of fanfare and celebration, Longwood Gardens opened the gate to its newest accomplishment: the expanded Meadow Garden. The event was hosted by Faceplant Boardriders, and its president, Robert Wheeler.

Wheeler, 24, is the founder of the company, and he said he's been in love with skateboarding since he was very young.

<![CDATA[Oxford council addresses taxing issues]]> OXFORD >> Oxford Borough Council meeting started early on Monday to discuss the first draft of the budget for 2015. At this point there is no tax increase proposed, but there was discussion of where items might need to be increased.

The total budget amount is going up by approximately $90,000, but revenues are going up due to new construction.
